'SkySat-1' Watches Planes Land In China, From Space (VIDEO)

This is what it looks like when an incredibly powerful satellite in orbit around the Earth decides to zoom in on Beijing airport, China, just for the hell of it.

The video was taken in real time on 30 December 2013.

The operators of the satellite are now offering 90 second video clips of anywhere on Earth, for a price - so if you have a spare few million dollars (or whatever it costs to do something this clearly amazing) then we encourage you to do it, and create one of the most self-indulgent selfies in human history.
