'Friends' Reunion Is 'Not Going To Happen', Says Actress Courteney Cox

Courteney Cox Talks 'Friends' Reunion

Courteney Cox has shot down any hope we once had for a ‘Friends’ reunion in a new interview, stating that it is "not going to happen".

The actress - who played Monica Gellar in the classic American sitcom - made her statement during an appearance on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’ earlier this week, firmly putting to bed all talk of a ‘Friends’ reunion, ahead of the ten-year anniversary of the show’s final episode.

She explained that the stars of the series - including Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow - all have hectic and conflicting schedules, meaning it would be impossible to schedule any kind of reunion special.

Courteney explained: “Let me tell you something, there are six 'Friends' and I've been trying to put together a cast dinner for ten years. It doesn't happen.

“I can get the girls to come, maybe Matthew Perry... Matt LeBlanc cancelled last time right at the last minute, Schwimmer lives here. So it's not going to happen."

She also dismissed the idea of a future ‘Friends’ movie, claiming the TV series wouldn’t lend itself well to a film adaptation, explaining: “We did the whole show on a sound stage in Monica’s apartment pretty much… what are you gonna do?”

The final episode of ‘Friends’ aired in May 2004, and while there hasn’t been an official ‘Friends’ reunion since then, there have been a number of occasions where the cast have starred alongside each other in other projects.

Courteney is now the star of sitcom ‘Cougar Town’, which has featured cameos from a her former co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry and Lisa Kudrow.

Lisa Kudrow, who played loveable eccentric Phoebe, now stars in the comedy ‘Web Therapy’ which David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Courteney have all appeared in.

Rest In Peace...
