Shocking Footage Of Elderly Man Punched On Tube (VIDEO)

An elderly man was repeatedly punched on a London Underground train and apparently knocked out of by the force of it, this shocking video shows.

The video shows the man and another passenger arguing and struggling with one another. The other man then stands up and attacks him, apparently kneeing him in the face after punching him.

British Transport Police detectives have released an image of a man they they want to speak to in relation to the incident, which took place at Aldgate East London Underground station on Monday.

Detective Constable Lawrence Murphy, who is leading the investigation, said: “At 9.20pm onboard a District line train, a physical altercation occurred between two men which resulted in a fight which left a man requiring hospital treatment.”

DC Murphy added: “I urgently want to speak to the man pictured, as I believe he will be able to greatly assist the investigation. If you recognise him, or were on board the train, please get in touch.

“Violence on the Tube is rare, but when it does happen, because of the confined spaces, it can be all the more shocking.

Police are seeking this man in connection with the attack

“Passengers can be reassured that BTP takes all violent offences extremely seriously and we are doing everything we can to trace the offender and bring him to justice.”

Police said a 68-year-old man, from Newham, has been arrested on suspicion of common assault, resisting arrest and a public order offence.
