‘Eastenders’ bosses are getting ready to welcome Ben Mitchell back to the Square according to reports.
However the character won’t be played by Joshua Pascoe, who starred as Ben from 2010 to 2012, instead casting directors are looking for a new actor to take on the role.
Phil's son is returning to Walford
According to DigitalSpy, ‘EastEnders’ bosses are still deciding on who will play Ben ahead of the character’s return in late 2014.
Phil’s son Ben was last seen in Walford when he handed himself in to police, confessing to the murder of Heather Trott.
Since his exit, things have changed considerably within the Mitchell family while elsewhere in E20, the Carter family have arrived and everyone is struggling to deal with the shock murder of Lucy Beale.
Earlier this week, it was revealed to Phil Mitchell that his son had been released from prison without his knowledge, sparking speculation over whether Ben could actually be to blame for Lucy’s death.
Fans are already discussing whether Ben killed Lucy
His arrival may not go down too well with Lola, the mother of Ben’s child Lexi. It’s also unlikely that Heather’s best pal Shirley Carter will welcome Ben’s return.
There has been plenty of speculation over who murdered Lucy Beale and it would certainly shock viewers and the show’s cast if he were guilty.
