Boy Comforts Scared Classmate On First Day Of School: See The Cute Video
YouTube/Drama Fever

The first day of school can be daunting for kids, but luckily for one little girl a caring classmate was on hand to comfort her.

Anita found her first day at school in Taiwan to be a little overwhelming, so she turned to a boy called Alston for reassurance.

He tries to calm her nerves by repeatedly telling her:

"You don't need to worry. I'll protect you."

As tears begin to well up in Anita's eyes, Alston assures her that her mum will DEFINITELY be there to pick her up when she wakes up from her afternoon nap.

Unfortunately - as so often happens when a girl tries to explain her emotional needs to a boy, - Alston gets confused about what it is that Anita wants from him.

When she asks for a hug he thinks she means that he wants her to carry her, which he points out he is far too young (and small) to do.

The adorable video was filmed three years ago, but it has only recently been shared on YouTube with the children's parents' permission, as Anita and Alston have now graduated from their pre-school.

Within four days of being uploaded to YouTube on July 1, 2014, the video had already been viewed more than 450,000 times.

Viewers have rushed to comment on how cute Alston is, and how mature he seems for someone so young.

"Such a sweetheart this little guy is! #mustwatchvideo" wrote one.
