A baby girl who was apparently born dead 27 weeks into her mum's pregnancy has been found alive in a hospital mortuary in Colombia.

Jenny Hurtado's daughter was taken to the hospital's morgue after doctors declared her dead at birth.

TEN hours later, her supposed remains were given to her father who heard a cry coming from within the box.

The Mirror reports that baby girl, now named Milagros (Miracle) was rushed to a hospital in the capital, Bogota, and is now in intensive care.

Her mum is recovering from her ordeal at the hospital in Quibdo where her daughter was born.

Her doctor Javier Zagarra explained the baby's apparent return from the dead as being due to the warmth of the sheets she was wrapped in in the mortuary.

"In some cases the heart movements are not perceptible even though the newborn is alive, they can declare it dead," he said. "When they wrap the baby in a sheet, upon receiving warmth, the baby can then revitalize."

Amazing!
