Nothing says Christmas like ice skating and we've searched high and low for the most festive spots across the UK to practice your crossed chasse.

From ice dancing at the foot of Edinburgh Castle to slip-sliding about after a go on the ferris wheel at Hyde Park, check out MyDaily's favourite ice rinks to skate at this season.

1.Selfridges Trafford Ice Rink, Manchester

When: Until January 5, 2014

Why: Experience true luxury at the Selfridges Trafford ice rink in Manchester. This rink comes complete with no less than 42 glitter balls, rose gold baubles and a magical mini forest. After taking a spin, skaters can get warm and cosy in a huge sheepskin chair at the Ugg rink-side lounge.

Not enough for you? Well, there's also a Krispy Kreme concession store and in true Selfridges style, the store has crafted its own Xmas scent which is pumped out across the ice.

2. The Natural History Museum

3. Eden Project Cornwall Ice Rink

Why: The Christmas ice rink at the Eden Project is skating with a difference! Trees adorned in fairy lights decorate this Nordic themed rink for the ultimate festive fairytale experience.

Expert skaters can sign up to the Super Skate sessions otherwise general sessions for all levels start on the hour for 40 minutes.

4. Edinburgh Ice Rink

Why: Sure to make you think of Christmas fairies and nutcrackers and the like, Edinburgh ice rink is set just beneath the striking Edinburgh Castle and is one of the biggest outdoor ice rinks in Europe!

Before hitting the ice enjoy festive music, theatre performances and more mulled wine and mince pies than you can shake a candy cane at.

5. Winter Wonderland Ice Rink
