Porn - a controversial thing. Or is it really? It's actually okay to think whatever you like about porn and here's how you figure that out.
What if you're simply not interested?
First off, It's a perfectly reasonable thing to not be into seeing graphic images. There's loads of things I'm not interested in, for example; videos of babies learning how to walk, Downtown Abbey, Formula 1. No one cares if I like these things and can't make me watch them. It's OK to not like things.
What if you find porn disgusting?
Do you think that some of it is gross? There's pissing and choking and people getting hog tied and covered in food and their feet whipped. This all happens. I find rice pudding disgusting. If me and my future boyfriend were having a dinner party, we wouldn't serve it. But if he eats rice pudding alone, or watches videos of rice pudding, where's the harm in that? If he puts rice pudding all his balls and tries to lick him off himself? That's.. Ok.. Is that OK? It's OK if you're OK with it. Maybe.
Do you think it's cheating?
It's OK to feel weird about your other half looking at other (naked, shagging) halves. Do you dislike it because you think it's cheating or because your pride is hurt? Do you feel it's outright unfaithful or that you're being replaced. Once you figure out why, it'll be easier for you to handle and argue a point if you want to discourage someone else from doing something they like. Do you find it's offensive?
Do you find it degrading?
If so, why? People have a strange view that every single woman doing a job involving her vagina doesn't want to do it. Let's get this perfectly clear, I'm an advocate for any sex profession as long as it's safe and transparent. If you think it's degrading because these adult entertainers are beneath you, that's definitely bullshit. If you don't like it because of the possible pimp, drug use, violence motivation or manipulation, fair enough.
Do you think it's unrealistic?
Do you think it gives an unrealistic expectations of what we should look like? No one really leaves their shoes on (I really, really hope I'm right about that), no one wears those socks with the frills (I hope I'm right about this more). The thing is EVERYTHING in film is unrealistic. I'd like to point out Angelina Jolie once played an assassin and so did Brad Pitt, they were sent out to kill each other. Do you know what I mean? Everything in entertainment is unrealistic.
Do you love porn?
Do you love it with all your heart? Because I do. I forget about it for a while then I get a day off and remember that I'm an adult and I can do what I like. That's the best thing about porn, you can do what you like with it and I think that's great.
