Katy Perry has been talking sex. Not only did the singer reveal the longest she's ever been without it but she also confessed she doesn't have "strict rules" when it comes to getting frisky between the sheets.
Speaking to Chelsea Handler in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan, the 29-year-old discussed her struggle to cope with her divorce from comedian Russell Brand and her more recent break-up with musician John Mayer.
"It feels like a hundred lifetimes ago, so it's like digging up an old grave," she said in reference to her split from ex-husband Russell.
"A lot of therapy has happened and a lot of understanding and growth."
She added: "Sometimes you have to go through all this shit to get your grips on life and figure out what the next boundaries in your love life are going to be.
"You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place. In the long run, it was necessary for me to have more of a teammate."
The starlet also spilled on her break-up from John Mayer in February this year, saying: "I know it sounds really hippie-shit, but I'm living in the now and not fantasising about the future or [being] torn up about the past.
"I have a lot of respect for [John] still, and I know it goes both ways. There's no bad blood, but I'm sure there will be inspired songs."
When it comes to her sex life Katy admitted: "I'm not like Professor Higgins with my sex life. I'm not super strict. For me, the most important thing about sex is connection."
However, she's also adamant the longest she's ever gone without having sex is between six months and a year - and has never had a one-night-stand.
Trying to explain her type she said: "I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men," which we're pretty sure makes no sense at all...
But what are we to expect from a girl who carries "a lot of rose quartz, which attracts the male," and admits "maybe I need to calm it down with the amethyst"?
