Milan Fashion Week Beauty Notes: Three Autumn/Winter 2014 Trends To Know

We're over half way through fashion month and there's one beauty trend that's been popping up everywhere at the Autumn/Winter 2014 shows... it's all about eyeliner.

Here are three of the biggest hair and makeup stories to emerge from Milan Fashion Week.

1. Black liner

At Emilio Pucci, Joan Smalls made a case for always wearing a black khol pencil on the lower lash line. Over at Dolce & Gabbana, the look was less rock chick, more vintage chic, thanks to a subtle cat-eye flick and nude lips. A combination that never fails.

2. Rose-tinted lips

Pat McGrath's ballet-inspired beauty led to doll-like lashes and an array of lip colours at Prada's show. While some girls were given a strong scarlet lip, others were given a toned down version that looked all the more alluring against a flawless, pale complexion.

Similarly at Giorgio Armani, makeup artist Linda Cantello created a worn-in look with a blotted down rose red shade on the lips.

3. Super straight hair

The hair straightener-obsessed will be pleased to see the styles from both the Versace and Bottega Veneta catwalks.

Georgia May Jagger's Sixties-inspired style at Versace was all glamour (note that extra bit of volume on the back section of the head.) At Veneta, poker straight ponytails were groomed and glossy - almost like horse tails. In a good way.
