Police Officer Fractured Baby's Skull After Throwing Her To The Ground

A baby girl is in hospital with a fractured skull after a policeman reportedly snatched her from her dad and threw her to the ground in China.

The Metro reports that police officer Guo Zengxi had been out drinking with friends on a night off when he saw the seven-month-old baby girl in the arms of her father.

In a bizarre bet with his companions, he asserted that the child was not real and just a doll.

He approached the dad and touched the baby's face, before grabbing her, lifting her up, and crashing her to the ground.

The state media organisation, Legal Evening News say the incident happened in the city of Linzhou in Henan province.

The little girl was taken to hospital where her skull was found to be fractured.

Guo was initially given just 15 days of disciplinary confinement, with no extra punishment, but has since been arrested following further investigations.

Chinese news agency Xinhua said the head of the public security bureau, Guo Faji, confirmed the officer was 'put under criminal detention' on Saturday night and' transferred to a detention centre in Anyang City this morning'.
