Bring your children to work day has been around for some time for those mums and dads crazy enough to indulge in it (do some people not realise work is where you go for a REST from parenting?) and now, workers are being encouraged to take their PARENTS into the office once a year, too.

Yesterday, 28 companies in 14 countries hosted a 'Bring in Your Parents Day', organised by professional networking website, LinkedIn.

CNN reports one in three parents said they were not familiar with what their children do at work, and that the day would give them an insight into their children's careers.

"We believe that parents do have a lot of wisdom to share with their children, but if they don't understand exactly what it is they do, sometimes it can be hard to give that advice," LinkedIn's direction of corporate communications, Catherine Fisher said. "We want to bridge that gap."
