News Reader Reveals Terminal Brain Cancer Live On Air... But Vows To Keep Reporting

A news anchor has revealed he has terminal brain cancer live on air.

Dave Benton of Illinois channel WCIA-TV told viewers on Thursday doctors had given him between four and six months to live after the cancer returned.

The father-of-two explained the tumour had become too large for surgery or radiation but said he would try a new treatment to slow its growth.

Benton, 51, vowed to keep working for as long as he can.

He added: "As you know I am a born-again Christian, I believe I am in God’s hands and I am at peace and I know that he is going to take care of the days ahead.”
