Man Falls From Roof During London Fashion Week Show

A man fell through the roof of Topshop's showspace on Gray's Inn Road, Kings Cross during the final day of London Fashion Week.

As the second show of Fashion East's Spring/Summer 2015 presentation began, a workman was seen hitting his head on scaffolding as he plummeted 50 ft to the floor.

Team MyDaily were there to watch the show on Tuesday afternoon. Initially, we thought the huge crash was a ceiling tile dropping from roof, but it soon became clear that it was a man who had been working on the building next door.

Following the incident, Topshop tweeted the following:

For those at the #TopshopShowspace earlier for @Fashion_East the worker from the adjacent building is being cared for by medical staff.

The reaction from guests and staff at the catwalk show, supported by Topshop, suggests I wasn't the only one left shaken up and anxious over the man's wellbeing.

Fashion blogger Zoe Ldn was also at the show and shared these messages on Twitter:

Topshop went on to release the following statement to PA: "We're aware that people are asking why we didn't stop the show, as soon as we realised what had happened medical staff and production security were taking care of him.

"The builder was working on an adjacent building site to the Topshop show space and walked on the corrugated glass roof on top of the space - as to why he walked on it we do not know yet - but the slate of glass gave way. He fell in an area to the back of the stage."

This is extremely sad and shocking news for the man's family, and an unfortunate way to end fashion week.

We're sure Fashion East designers Helen Lawrence, Louise Aslop and Ed Marler who were showcasing their S/S 2015 collections during the incident are equally as worried about the man's health.
