Milan Fashion Week: 8 Beauty Lessons

From the hot pink lipstick and bouffant hair at Moschino's Barbie-inspired show to the leather ponytail holders seen on the Fendi catwalk, there was no shortage of statement-making beauty looks at Milan Fashion Week.

However, the hair and make up seen from Italian city was also sleek, sharp and wearable.

At Versace, super-straight hairstyles were given a sporty edge with a wet-look finish on the roots. Glowing, slightly flushed skin was another big beauty hit.

Our favourite look of the season? The cherry-coloured lips and elongated eyes seen at Dolce & Gabbana's Spanish-inspired show.

The beauty team used not one, but three of the brand's lip colours to achieve the statement lip seen on Kendall Jenner and co.

The colours? Dolce & Gabbana's Classic Cream Lipstick (£24 at Harrods) in shades of Ultra and Amethyst were applied on the outer parts of the lips before the new Dolce Matte Lipstick in Dolce Desire was applied on the cupid's bow and at the centre for a rich plump affect.

It's also worth noting the brow technique - brows were naturally sculpted with the Brow Liner in Chestnut (£33 from Harrods) using the nib of the pencil to create additional definition. Broad strokes from the wide part of the nib were then used to fill the colour outwards to the end of the brow achieving a natural youthfulness to the face.
