'Shameless' star Tina Malone is set to undergo £50,000 worth of cosmetic surgery for a new documentary series.

The 51-year-old actress plans to have her eyes, chin, neck, boobs, underarms and tummy nipped and tucked over a six-month period.

Tina - who lost more than 11 stone after having a gastric band fitted four years ago - has put off the surgical procedures until now as she wanted to have IVF to fulfil her dream of having a baby

Speaking about the forthcoming surgery, she told the Liverpool Echo: “I’m not saying I was smacked with the ugly stick, but I certainly hit a few branches when I fell out of the tree.

“I’ve never been a beauty. I never will be but, for the first time in my life, I want to make the best of myself and I’m really excited about that.

“They reckon I've got around 10lb of skin to get rid of. Then I won’t feel like I’m walking around with two bags of sugar in my knickers!”

The 'Celebrity Big Brother' and 'Splash!' star says she decided to have more surgery when she put on weight after having her gastric band loosened following the birth of her daughter, Flame, last year.

“I had the band loosened to feed the baby and I went up to 13 and a half stones when I was pregnant with her,” she said.

“In March I had the band tightened and I am now nine stone, 11 pounds and a size 10. I will be a size 8 again but I want to get rid of the excess skin which, however hard I work out, I am never going to get rid of.

“I won’t look like Cheryl Cole but I want to see what I look like without it.”

Tina’s ops will be filmed as part of the documentary series about weight and obesity, which is due to be screened next summer.

“People will say they are fat and happy but I will tell you they’re not,” she says. “I’ve been the fat bird with the diabetes and the breathlessness, and it’s no fun.

“People say I look amazing for 51, and I love being 51. I feel 31. In my head, I’m 21.

“This is not clutching at youth. I am comfortable with me – but I will be more comfortable when I have had the work done.”

Earlier this year, Tina became embroiled in a feud with 'Loose Women' star Jamelia over comments the former pop star made about older mums on the lunch time show.

During a discussion about having children later in life, Jamelia claimed that she felt that 50 was too old to have a child.

Having become a mum for the second time at the age of 50, Jamelia's comments did not impress Tina and the opinionated actress let the world know about it on Twitter.
