Andrew Marr Interviewed Jon Stewart And Twitter Users Think It Just Looked 'A Bit Wrong'

Jon Stewart Just Appeared On Andrew Marr And The Universe Imploded A Bit

Jon Stewart has been dubbed 'America's most trusted newsman' while Andrew Marr is a British national treasure and former political editor of the BBC.

But when the two came together, some viewers were unable to process the experience.

Stewart, the comedian and host of The Daily Show in the US, appeared on BBC breakfast-time TV on Sunday, as a guest on The Andrew Marr Show.

Veteran political broadcaster Marr quizzed Stewart about his directorial debut, a film called Rosewater which tells the story of a journalist held captive in Iran.

But viewers of the show were more concerned about the cross-Atlantic encounter of the two hosts: who was better, whether Stewart was enjoying himself and whether it was just plain wrong for the pair to share a screen.

True to form, Stewart responded to some of Marr's serious questions with jokes. He swiftly corrected Marr when the British host said "millions" of Americans rely on The Daily Show for their news. "All Americans, let's be honest," Stewart insisted.

Many Twitter commentators were excited to see the pair together:

Sadly, it looks doubtful we will see a Stewart/Marr collaboration in future.

Many tweeters pointed out that Stewart looked uncomfortable in the BBC studio, and Marr may not have "got" the US host. Some even suggested it should have been Stewart who interviewed another guest on the show, Boris Johnson, rather than Marr.

Perhaps the studio just wasn't big enough for the two of them.
