It's a given that American supermodel Karlie Kloss has endless style and beauty tricks up her sleeve. She is *never* not looking glossy, gorgeous and immaculate - even in her gym gear.

Huffington Post Style caught up with the 22-year-old stunner on the red carpet at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards in New York on Monday night. The good news is, she shared the best bit of fashion and beauty advice she's ever received.

"My mom always gave me great style and beauty advice. She said to be confident in what you're wearing, no matter what it is. Just own it," Karlie said.

And yes, Kloss "owned it" in this killer Alexander McQueen cut-out dress, strappy stilettos and boxy clutch bag co-ord to present Sarah Burton with her award.

Other style and beauty need-to-knows from the A-list ladies working the red carpet scene on Monday night included Lupita Nyong'o's all important rule: ​"Don't wear heels you can't walk in!"

Russian model Natalia Vodianova said, "My grandmother forced me not to touch my eyebrows. I have always touched them very little, and I think it worked out!"

And if you ever wondered how those Haim sisters (of the eponymous American pop rock band) always look so fresh faced - it's all down to taking off every inch of make up at the end of the night.

"Always wash your face at night... don't be lazy!" Alana Haim said. "Even on those nights you want to crawl into bed, just crawl into the bathroom, slowly wash your face and then crawl right back into bed."
