Beauty Trends To Know From London Fashion Week

Dazzling lash lines, oxblood lipstick and textured hairstyles were the talk of the Autumn/Winter 2015 shows in New York. So, what were the key looks at London Fashion Week?

Make up:

Young, fresh and effortless was the theme on the LFW catwalk, with winter pinks and pastels used to add colour to the lips and cheeks. At Holly Fulton, Andrew Gallimore worked with Mac to create a "party girl" look while Sam Bryant used putty shades "to bring back the girl's colour" at Simone Rocha. The key product? Mac's Trend Forecast Fall 15 palettes (available this spring) which include two key colours for the season ahead: Boys In Blue for the eyes and Smoke Petal for the lips.

Hair:

It's good news for girls who like fuss-free hairstyles. Low-key, relaxed looks were prominent this season, with soft and natural styles leading the way at Burberry, House of Holland, David Koma and Topshop Unique. At Erdem, Anthony Turner's inspiration was "an eccentric woman with slept-in, slightly dishevelled hair". He teased longer locks with Bumble & Bumble's new Surf Infusion before smoothing into a low ponytail. There was a similar laid-back vibe at Temperley, too. "We wanted to create a winter look of simplicity that takes the hair, and products used, right back to basics," global Moroccanoil ambassador Antonio Corral Calero said backstage. A small section of the hair was looped and pinned to create "a rock and roll version of polished".

Nails:

Glitter is back! Butter London's Katie Jane Hughes created "the perfect occasion nail" at Sibling using the brand's Ombre Brush on top of black, pink or orange glitter. Who doesn't love a sparkly manicure to brighten things up mid-winter? When you're nails aren't dazzling, try the glossy plum nail created by Christian Louboutin Beauté for Michael Van Der Ham. Pure elegance.
