Lego Brings Christmas Magic To London

Lego Brings Christmas Magic To London
LEGO

Lego's annual Christmas display has arrived in London, and fans of the world's most popular toy won't be disappointed with the new 'Santa's Sleigh' model.

That's right - this year we're not dreaming of a white Christmas. We're dreaming of one in plastic bricks of every shade, because Lego is back in Covent Garden with a brand new festive display - and it looks like a cracker!

Lego's Christmas model for 2014 is Santa on his sleigh, cracking the reins over Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and - of course - Rudolph and his famously florid conk.

You'll notice that there's no Mrs Claus in the passenger seat - it's been deliberately left empty so that young (or old!) visitors can climb up beside the big man in red for a 'Santa selfie'.

The awe-inspiring installation is the handiwork of Duncan Titmarsh, who has what is probably the second-greatest job in the world, after ice-cream taster. Duncan is the UK's only official Lego Certified Professional, which means he gets to sit around building lego all day!

It took Duncan 32 days to assemble his festive masterpiece, which is made entirely of Lego bricks - 700,000 of them, to be exact!

Lego is no stranger to putting on a truly dazzling Christmas show. Previous displays have included a walk-through Snow Globe, a giant advent calendar, and a 30m Christmas tree (made out of Lego, of course).

The Santa's Sleigh installation can be found on Covent Garden's North-East Piazza until December 29.
