Designer Daan Roosegaarde has built the largest ever air purifier, which is the result of three years of research and development.
The final product is a tower that scrubs the pollution from more than 30,000 cubic meters of air per hour—and then condenses those fine particles of smog into tiny “gem stones.”
The stones are then manufactured and can be embedded into pieces of jewelry, including rings and cufflinks.

The Smog Free Tower uses patented ion technology to produce smog-free bubbles of public space, allowing people to breathe and experience clean air for free.
The project is not only intended to be a final local solution, but also a sensory experience of a clean future. Along with governments, NGOs and the clean-tech industry, people here can become part of the solution instead of the problem.
The company has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the first pilot of the Tower in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
Eventually, the tower will travel around the world, from city to city. From Beijing to Paris. From Los Angeles to Mexico City - all in the name of breathing clean air.
