Drunk Woman Arrested After (Stupidly) Livestreaming Herself Driving On Periscope

This Drink Driver's Video Is A Lesson In How NOT To Use Social Media

A 23-year-old woman has been charged with Driving Under The Influence after she (stupidly) livestreamed her drunken driving on Periscope.

Whitney Beall, who lives in Florida, told Periscope followers that she was drunk and didn't know where she was.

Her video, which could be watched worldwide, prompted several people to contact her and tell her to stop driving.

However, as time passed and nobody was able to get through to the reckless driver, one viewer finally called 911 and reported her.

A local officer then downloaded the app and used it to track Beall's location.

A spokesman for the police department said: "I got to tell you I was a little shocked. After 30 years of law enforcement I hadn’t seen anything like this before."

Beall later failed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, local TV station 10 News reported, and refused to do a breath analyser test.

She was promptly (and unsurprisingly) taken to the county jail giving everyone an example of how not to use Periscope when you're drunk.
