'Star Wars' Rebel Alliance Logo Mistaken For Al Qaeda Logo By Spanish Television Channel

News Channel Accidentally Confuses Al-Qaeda With The Rebel Alliance From 'Star Wars'

Take a look at this clip from a news show on the Spanish government's state owned channel Television Española.

Notice anything out of place?

Eagle-eyed viewers will have noticed that the symbol used to represent terror group Al Qaeda is actually the logo of the Rebel Alliance which took down Darth Vader's Death Star in 'Star Wars'.

Reporter Jota Abril was explaining the history of Islamic State in Syria, but the logo used by the graphics team was taken from the Facebook page of a "record label" called Alqaeda'Inc, which uses the 'Star Wars' imagery.

Awkward.

Abril has since apologised for the slip-up.
