"At £14, it's probably the most expensive English breakfast this side of lunchtime, but you won't really give a crap because the view is worth every penny - and the food is pretty good too. If you get in that is, booking is a bit of a nightmare."

"Although the last thing you might want to do on a Sunday morning is stand in a queue for breakfast the wait is sooo worth it," says Caoimhe O'Reilly, consumer marketing manager.

"The surroundings are classy - think typical high-ceilinged five-star restaurant - which makes it perfect for a romantic or a girly special occasion, and the food is spread out in a vast buffet.
Delicate twirls of salmon, mountains of fresh couscous salads, platters of good cheese are my favourites. Make sure you leave room for pudding though - all those delicate mini desserts and dainty chocolates will turn your eyes into saucer-plates."

Food is great, but the setting is better.
Set in a listed warehouse, the recently-refurbished interior of Village East is mix of cosy leather-seated booths, soft lighting and exposed brick work.
The Bloody Mary and Cucumber Mary (replace tomato juice with cucumber) are perfect for the weekend hangover, while the campfire breakfast (slow-roasted pork shoulder, baked beans and fried eggs) is the perfect comforting meal for the morning-after-the-night-before.
The vegetarian breakfast has a bizarre twist (we've never eaten eggs with carrot and quinoa before, but it takes all sorts), but the fresh grapefruit offers a light and refreshing end to a great brunch experience. Village East
