The Entertainment Industry's LGBT Moments Of The Year: From 'Bake Off' Star Tamal To 'EastEnders' Making Soap History

It’s been an outstanding year for LGBT culture within the entertainment industry, and while there’s undoubtedly a lot of work to do before we see more and more LGBT stories and stars at the centre of more films, TV shows, magazine spreads and award ceremonies, we reckon there’s plenty to celebrate from 2015.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock since June, you’ll recognise the iconic ‘Call Me Caitlyn’ Vanity Fair cover, but it wasn’t just the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star who helped move LGBT issues to the forefront of discussions.

Here in the UK, we’ve seen two soaps cast their first transgender characters, played by transgender actors, and the BBC also brought us ‘Boy Meets Girl’, with Rebecca Root at its heart.
