'Deadpool' Actor TJ Miller Talks Ryan Reynolds And Being Sceptical About Auditions

TJ Miller On His Very Funny 'Deadpool' Role

This year's most anticipated anti-hero movie is just around the corner, so we sat down with 'Deadpool' actor TJ Miller to talk about his role as Weasel, and what it's like working alongside Ryan Reynolds.

'Deadpool' strives to set itself apart from other films in the Marvel franchise, taking what 'Iron Man' did to reinvigorate superhero movies and kicking it up several notches. The main character is completely aware he's in a comic book, meaning the blockbuster is full of fourth-wall breaking and genuinely funny one-liners. Reynolds takes a few swipes at his much maligned Green Lantern role, too.

Although Reynolds is the star of the show, Deadpool's alter ego Wade Wilson wouldn't be the quick-witted anti-hero we see on the screen without his back-up. There's a friendly and innocent taxi driver portrayed by Karan Soni, a blind former cocaine addict pensioner played by Leslie Uggams, and - of course - the no-nonsense bartender Weasel, brought to life by 'Silicon Valley' star TJ Miller.

We sat down with TJ to talk about his character, which you can see in the video above.

After going through the specifics of finding himself in the role and chatting about the comics, TJ let slip that he might be a little jealous of main man Ryan Reynolds. But he's not bitter or anything:

So there you have it, straight from the Weasel's mouth - Ryan Reynolds did a good job playing Deadpool. Even if he's not everyone's cup of tea face-wise.

'Deadpool' opens in UK cinemas and IMAX on 10 February.
