Our Top 5 Roadtrips

On rare, but beautiful occasions an album of true road tripping calibre will fall in your lap. An album that just cries out to be driven to. With Bruce Springsteen set to realease his 17th album, Wrecking Ball, on March 5th, we were prompted to take a look through his revered back catalogue. If we're honest we found more than one true road tripping album in Springsteen's musical honeypot, but one in particular stood out as an unimpeachable collection of goose-pimple inducing songs; that album is, Darkness On the Edge of Town. Take a look at our Black Tomato selection of the best road trips to listen to this great album on.

The awe-inspiring beauty and extraordinary landscapes of Western Australia make for the perfect intrepid road trip. From sun-kissed Perth drive eastward along the Great Eastern Highway through an area of remarkable geographic history. Drive along The Wave Rock in Hyden, one of Earth’s great natural wonders The Wave is a giant surf of multi coloured rock which seems as if it’s about to crash to the earth below. Next stop on route is Kalgoorlie, an ancient gold rush city steeped in history where you can soak up the colonial vibes and discover beautifully preserved historic buildings. Last stop on the road is Esperance, a land of coastal bounty and scenic gorgeousness. Here you can take a break from the road and enjoy the miles and miles of glorious beaches.
