The comedy actress, who plays dippy fashion journalist Catriona in the BBC sitcom and its recent film adaptation, is reportedly in talks to enter the house when the Channel 5 reality show returns later this month.
According to The Sun, Helen has been targeted by producers following her successful appearances on spin-off show ‘Bit On The Side’, hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal.
However, it seems they may have a bit more convincing to do before she signs on the dotted line, as she told the paper: “My daughter would disapprove and if I do go into the ‘CBB’ house I think I might have a nervous breakdown.”
Helen was previously approached to appear on ‘CBB’ in 2009, but she was unable to take part due to her commitment to a production of ‘Calendar Girls’.
Other stars tipped to appear on this summer’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ include 80s popstar Samantha Fox, ‘Gogglebox’ pair Steven Webb and Chris Steed, ‘Mob Wives’ cast member Renee Graziano, former ‘X Factor’ reject Chloe Mafia, and Ben Innes, best known for taking a photo with a plane hijacker on an EgyptAir plane.
‘CBB’ bosses recently teased the new series, with a spokesperson stating: “The BB House has been given a glamorous make-over for our brand new celebrity Housemates, but they shouldn’t make themselves too much at home, because despite the shiny new look of the house they must remember, all that glitters is not gold!
“The identities of the Housemates are top secret, but we can confirm there will be egos, drama, tantrums and diva strops.”
