Earlier this month it was announced that the Barlow family will be having something of a reunion in ‘Coronation Street’, and seems the McDonalds could be next, as Jim is reportedly set to return.
Charles Lawson plays the imprisoned father of Steve McDonald, and he’s now hinted he’s been in talks for a comeback.
Charles was last seen on ‘Corrie’ when Peter Barlow was put in the same prison as Jim in 2014, and he’s now revealed that he may be back.
He told The Sun: “I speak to Simon [Gregson, who plays Steve] every fortnight or every week in fact, and he always lets me know what’s going on and I believe there’s the possibility of something happening sort of over the winter time.”
When then asked if fans can expect some more father-son bonding, he replied: “I think so, there are rumours around that there might be something to do with something I can’t really discuss. Watch this space.”
Steve is set to have a lot on his plate in the coming months, after discovering he’s the most fertile man in Weatherfield, by impregnating Leanne Battersby - after a one night stand - and wife, Michelle.
At present, Michelle has no idea that Steve is the father of Leanne’s baby, but this is soapland, so obviously, it’s highly likely she’ll find out soon enough.
