UK Weather Forecasters Promise A Sunny Bank Holiday

We’ve Got Some Good News About The Bank Holiday Weather!

Light up that barbecue and prepare to move into the garden because that bank holiday that the horizon is promising to be a (mostly) sunny one.

A good deal of warm, fine weather is expected with highs of 20°C likely from Friday.

Met Office forecaster Alex Burkill said: “Temperatures over the bank holiday weekend will be a little above average with highs of 20°C in the south and high teens in the north.

“It will be dry and sunny in most places and pleasantly warm and even hot if there are prolonged periods of sun.”

But he did warn of the chance of a few locally heavy showers, telling the Telegraph: “On Sunday there will be high teens across the bulk of the UK and it will be generally dry for most but there could be showers around, though they won’t be prolonged.

“On Monday it will be cloudier and the only fly in the ointment is that on Monday there is the potential for it to be rather wet and windy in the south-east later on.”

Though you’d be wise to carry a brolly at least on Monday, fear not, for we are apparently heading for a scorcher next month.

Piers Corbyn, forecaster for WeatherAction, told the Mirror: “We are forecasting a tremendous, dry, warm and sunny ‘flaming June’ for most of the month

“The start will be dry, warm or hot, with sunny, blue skies. Some great weather is on the way."
