Who else has just about had enough of Hygge? I mean I'm all for wrapping up with a blanket and a hot chocolate of an evening at this time of year, but I'm not so keen on the smug coffee table books that merely point out the fact that my home is never going to live up to the idyllic scene the Danes seem to so effortlessly pull off.

And it's not just because you need to be 100% contactable all of the time, no, there's that intense need to look busy if you're killing a bit of time between meetings, or you're waiting for a friend, or heaven forbid you're sat on a train and there's nothing to look at.

That cosy, woollen knitwear you cocooned yourself in over Christmas... that's Hygge. But don't worry you can still have that with lagom, you're just going to have to knit it yourself. Oh and ideally it should be from the wool of your own grass fed sheep, which you've lovingly sheared and then spun on the spinning wheel you found on Freecycle.

Statistics show that 43% of people in the UK break their resolutions within the first month and by the end of March that figure has risen to a whopping 80%. In fact we are so good at giving up, that there is now an official day dedicated to our downfall - 17th January is 'Ditch New Year's Resolutions Day'.
