Chief Operating Officer - Hotels for the Tsogo Sun group

Ravi is the Chief Operating Officer - Hotels for the Tsogo Sun group, Southern Africa’s premier gaming, hotel and entertainment group with a portfolio that proudly comprises over 90 hotels with more than 14 600 hotel rooms across all sectors of the market, from luxury to budget in South Africa, across Africa and United Arab Emirates and Seychelles;14 premier gaming and entertainment destinations in six provinces of South Africa; theatres, cinemas, restaurants and bars; and over 280 conference and banqueting facilities, including the Sandton Convention Centre.  He has been with the group for over 20 years and has spent time in leadership positions across brands in Durban, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and more recently Johannesburg. Ravi is responsible for groups hotel division which includes multiple global brands as well as the Sandton Convention Centre. He serves on the boards of several Tourism industry bodies and was recently appointed by the Minister of Tourism to serve on the National Tourism Sector Strategy Review panel tasked with overhauling the countries tourism strategy as well as the Tourism Charter Council which advises the Minister on the state of transformation in the sector. In August 2016 he was appointed as Deputy Chairman to former Minister of Labour and Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni at the Tourism Business Council of South Africa.  Ravi was the Winner of the DHL Rising Star Award in 2013. He completed an MBA at the University of Stellenbosch in 2015 and is currently writing a thesis on Employee Wellness. A strong managerial background with senior level experience and cross-industry exposure has equipped him with excellent strategic vision and an innate ability to build and implement sophisticated plans with a proven track record of explicitly supporting business needs.
