Robert Wilton has been Advisor to the Prime Minister of Kosovo in the lead-up to the country's independence, Private Secretary to three UK Secretaries of State for Defence, and leader of an international mission in Albania. His prize-winning Comptrollerate-General novels throw light into the shadows behind some of the most critical moments in British history. He also writes on the history of international intervention. He is co-founder of The Ideas Partnership, a charity stimulating and supporting projects in minority education, the environment and cultural heritage. Occasionally he rows a gig and translates a little poetry; he divides his time between Cornwall and the Balkans.
