Rosi Sexton

The UK's first ever female UFC athlete

Rosi Sexton is Britain’s best mixed martial artist (MMA). Next month she will become the UK’s first ever female athlete to compete at the pinnacle of her sport – the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Rosi is not your typical mixed martial artist. She has a first class degree from Cambridge University in mathematics, and was awarded a PhD in theoretical computer science by the University of Manchester.

She’s been competing in MMA for 11 years, balancing her rigorous training schedule with her studies, her work as an osteopath and being a mother to her 8 year-old son – who is also her biggest fan.

Rosi is set to make her Octagon debut in Winnipeg on 15 June, in front of a 15,000 sell-out crowd, against Canadian athlete Alexis Davies.

MMA is one of the most physically demanding sports in the world and Rosi is one of the fittest athletes in the country. At 35 years old, she will be realising her life-long dream to compete in UFC, the world’s premier MMA organisation.
