Wian Verwoerd

Law graduate (hons) from Trinity College Dublin and MPhil in Justice & Transformation from the University of Cape Town

Wian Verwoerd is a dual South African and Irish citizen that studied law at Trinity College Dublin and an MPhil in Justice and Transformation at the University of Cape Town. He recently submitted his thesis, titled: “Transforming Whiteness: Exploring Transformation at Stellenbosch University”. He has a passion for social justice, human rights and unique developmental approaches (namely sport and development). Professionally he has worked for various NPO’s, predominantly in advocacy-orientated roles, such as Lawyers For Human Rights and the Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town. He spends his spare time surfing, hiking and listening to music.
