Spain’s golden couple Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz have been proving that, despite their bookend Oscars, Hollywood riches and glittering screen success on both sides of the Atlantic, when it comes to family holidays... they’re happy to follow in the footsteps of many of their countrymen and head for the golden sands of the Costa Brava.

This year sees a couple of photogenic additions to the party – their baby son Leo, now six months old and as cute as a button in a baby sling worn by mother Penelope, and Eva Longoria, Desperate Housewives star and fast becoming a family fixture, since she was whisked off her feet by Penelope’s brother Eduardo earlier this year, following her divorce from basketball star Tony Parker.
