PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Jamie Foxx has been named to host the Michael Jackson tribute concert planned for October in Cardiff.

Foxx's spokesman said the Oscar-winning star of Ray would host Michael Forever - The Tribute Concert. It is scheduled for October 8.

Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson and Cee Lo Green are among the show's announced performers.

The show is not affiliated with Michael Jackson's estate, but Jackson's mother Katherine and other family members are due to attend.

Organisers had to rescind an offer to the band Kiss last month after fans and Jackson's estate noted that singer-bassist Gene Simmons had harshly criticised the pop singer over the years.

Good look on the Kiss, Gene Simmons ban... No one who got any attention criticizing Michael should get any attention trying to "honor" him. All that can come from his critics that would have any worth is repentance.
