Revealed: Liam Fox Spent Almost £200,000 On Flights for Special Advisors In 15 Months

Former defence secretary Liam Fox spent at least £65,000 flying around the world on Government business, it has been disclosed.

A further £184,000 was spent on flights for his private office staff and special advisers, the current Defence Secretary Philip Hammond said in an answer to a written parliamentary question from Liverpool Walton Labour MP Steve Rotherham.

The MP and his staff spent £17,100 on accommodation whilst abroad, Mr Hammond added.

The costs only include travel from May last year up until the end of August. North Somerset MP Dr Fox resigned last month following allegations that he invited his best man Adam Werritty to meetings where none of his officials were present.
