A mother has told how her baby was shot in her arms by Belgian gunman Nordine Amrani.

Olivia Leblonk’s 17-month-old son Gabriel fought for his life for 10 hours but eventually died in hospital.

The blue-eyed toddler was hastily baptised just before he slipped away.

Ms Leblonk told the Daily Mail: “I had him in my arms when I heard a sound of gunfire followed by flash of light like lightning.

“I looked at my child and his eyes returned my look. I screamed. He had been wounded in the back of the head.”

Gabriel was one of four victims targeted by Amrani during his attack in Liege’s busy Place Saint Lambert on Tuesday.

Ms Leblonk had been at the scene with her husband Romuald and son Gabriel that morning visiting a nearby Christmas market.

Baby Gabriel was hit with a bullet from a military style assault rifle in the head close to his neck.

Doctors were unable to remove the bullet and baby Gabriel eventually died surrounded by his grief-stricken family.

Today photos of weapons and a cannabis farm belonging to Amrani were revealed.

A stash of weapons was discovered in the home of Liege gunman Nordine Amrani

Two teenage boys and a 75-year-old woman also died in the attacks.

Amrani injured a further 122 people before killing himself. The body of a woman – believed to be his neighbour’s cleaner – was later found at his home.

Pictures released today from Amrani’s home show a cache of guns and military-style clothing.

Images taken in 2007 also reveal a huge cannabis factory containing almost 3,000 plants.

Amrani was know to be a “gun freak”, police have said. He was convicted for five years after police found a dozen firearms in his metal workshop, including an AK-47 machine gun. He was also found guilty of drugs offences after growing 2,800 marijuana plants.
