An investigation is under way into the death of an airport worker whose body was found near Heathrow's Terminal 5, Scotland Yard confirmed today.

The man, named by police sources as Keith Stone, was discovered by colleagues at the busy transport hub at around 11.10am last Wednesday. Officers are not treating the death as suspicious.

A Met Police spokesman said: "We were called at 11.10am on January 4th to reports of a deceased man who was found airside at Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.

"He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. His death is being treated as non-suspicious and his next-of-kin have been informed."

The spokesman confirmed the man was a sub-contractor who worked airside at the busy London transport hub.
