Jamie Love, Boy Sent Home From School For Dressing As A Girl, Wins Fight To Return To Class

Schools Twin Record

A teenage boy who claimed he was sent home from school after turning up to lessons dressed as a girl has won his fight to return to classes.

Jamie Love arrived at school wearing denim hotpants, hair extensions and make-up, prompting staff to ask him to leave.

According to the 17-year-old, he told the school in advance of his plans to attend classes dressed as a girl, a detail that the school disputes.

But on Thursday night, Govan High School backed down and retracted their decision to exclude Love from school, after a campaign by fellow students, the Daily Record reported.

The Scottish teenager told the local paper he was "delighted" to return to school.

"I thought there was no way back and the school had turned their back on me but I can get on with my life now.

"It is a major victory for me and all the other kids who are confused about their sexuality."

A spokesman for Glasgow City Council insisted Love, who hopes to become a hairdresser, was not excluded for his choice of clothing.

"He can come to school dressed as a girl if he wants to.

"However, it's important that we put measures in place to accomodate this decision."

This was common at my all boys school. Indeed, some of the chaps were decidedly pretty. What, what.

'The Scottish teenager told the local paper he was "delighted" to return to school.' Hope you're reading this you SNP contributors! After this gets into the media, everyone will be pushing for Scotland's independence - they provide a laugh a minute! What a load of nonsense is going on here ... the child broke the uniform rule and the school has now left itself open for other silly children to flought their rules. The only concession I would have given this boy - conform or leave.

...denim hotpants, hair extensions and make-up...
Is that what girls normally wear at school?

My God!
When is this idiocy going to stop?
What's next? Going to school in the nude?
No wonder we're a laughing stock!

If he / she is from Govan then its understandable, no normal person lives there, mostly misfits of one kind or another, and mostly on benefits of one kind or another.

Denim hotpants? No wonder he was sent home. I'm sure the uniform is a black skirt, below the knee. No-one should have a problem with that.

Maybe it was his unshaved legs. Some people have no style.

Just what on earth was his mother thinking about by sending him to school dressed as a girl? Doing so would without doubt leave the lad open to some serious bullying from other children. No doubt he does think hes a girl but if he's got male equipment, he's a boy. I think it's best the lad goes for some kind of mental treatment before his feelings give him any more grief. However, I have no doubt that I'll be the one getting the grief for saying that but facts are facts...........he's a boy.

Bullying? I think you'll find many teenagers are little more mature than their paernts

I think you'll find many are not.

Confused about his sexuality eh? Has aspirations to be a hairdresser eh? Wears girlies clothes to school eh?
Well far from being confused about his sexuality I'm fairly confident that young Jamie is almost certainly "A left handed batsman"

Yes, if it infringes the uniform code.

I agree. Hot pants are not part of the uniform. As long as he wears the girl uniform, let him alone.
