In case you hadn't noticed, Wikipedia's English-language site has gone dark today in protest at the US Stop Online Piracy Act.

This has led not only to great confusion for students and great sadness for procrastinating writers, but also great hilarity on Twitter.

So we've rounded-up just some of the jokes so far, below - including a few of our favourite contributions to the #FactsWithoutWikipedia hashtag game.
