Tom Watson's Intern Slips Up With Her Boss's Twitter Account

Why you should ALWAYS Log Out Of Twitter

Spare a thought for Labour MP Tom Watson's parliamentary intern, who is presumably feeling quite wretched just now. A few computer problems led to the intern accidentally using her boss' account to send an inappropriate tweet on Thursday lunchtime.

HuffPost UK is baffled. You'd think the Labour MP - probably more knowledgeable on the dark arts of phone hacking than any other - would know how important it is to make sure you're properly logged off.

All is not lost, though. The tweet might have been ill-advised, but #savetheintern was almost immediately trending on Twitter.

We're sympathetic. A quick straw-poll in the HuffPost UK office suggests hardly anyone hasn't accidentally tweeted something at some point.

It's been a month of Twitter gaffes for Labour politicians, with Diane Abbott being made to apologise by Ed Miliband for allegedly "racist" tweets. This was almost immediately eclipsed by "blackbusters", involving a typo sent from Ed Miliband's account

In both of those events, Twitter immediately blew up, as it has done in the wake of the poor intern's IT difficulties.
