Two American children who were found living on a school bus after their parents were jailed have spoken out about their ordeal.

The five-year-old and 11-year-old children, who could not be named, lived on the vehicle, which has a guard dog, electricity and running water.

Neither child was enrolled in school.

The elder sibling showed US news channel Fox around her 'home' in a heartbreaking video saying: "We have a full bathroom, shower ... uh, a sink ... and some shelves."

The kids, from Spendora, Texas, have both been put in foster care.

so now these kids are going to be put in a children's home, possibly be abused, mix with scum and end up on skid row.

It said they have been put into foster care- I think that means that foster parents take care of them as opposed to a children's home where 'staff' take care of them.

Thats a typical redneck approach to living. Ive seen a photo of a site with caravans all stacked up on different levels with scaffolding and walkways inbetween. Truly weird in these backwoods places. I wouldnt fancy walking around there at night on my own!

Ah yes - the American dream - it really is about time America stayed at home and sorted out their own problems before jogging off 'Team America' style to police the world. If this is the kind of democracy and lifestyle they want to bring to the rest of us, I'll give it a miss thanks.

That is a very strange response - someone speaks the truth and that means they should be shown no respect???? Americans have no respect for Americans judging by this story, and many like it!

lcathlaz - that " backward country " saved you twice from your murderous neighbours - maybe if they had not bothered and spent so much blood and treasure on aiding you in France they would have fewer poor Americans .

There is a French expression very rarely used by the French even to the British and NEVER ever towards Americans - devoir de la reconnaissance a qn !!!!
