George Galloway
George Galloway, the newly elected Respect MP for Bradford West

George Galloway has gained 6,000 new Twitter fans following his dramatic by-election victory late on Thursday night.

Unfortunately for the Respect MP, he welcomed his new followers on Saturday by claiming he was "shattered but happy after the Blackburn triumph".

Galloway was elected MP for Bradford, not Blackburn.

George Galloway
Welcome to the 6000 new followers. I will try to live up to your expectations. Shattered but happy after the Blackburn triumph.

The politician, known as Gorgeous George, quickly followed up with a tweet reaffirming his freshly made Yorkshire ties:

George Galloway
Bradford is home for me now

This was then followed an hour later with a cryptic text that seemed to suggest Galloway's Twitter account had been hacked:

George Galloway
Nice try. Password now changed

The twittersphere jumped on the mistake, with many asking Galloway if he was now presiding over a "Blackburn Spring".

Galloway secured a dramatic victory in the Bradford West by-election, securing 10,000 votes more than his Labour rival.

On Friday, the politician had eggs thrown at him by 26-year-old Thomas Johnson, who called Galloway a "parasite".

George Galloway was a very good choice, well done Bradford. At least we have one formidable politician coming to Parliament.

Any person who can overcome the difficulties of saying 'indefectibility' whilst standing in front of a Head of State and when the cameras are rolling are bound to stumble on the simple thought processes of mixing up these two towns.
There's many a slip twix cup and lip, my grandpapa used to say.

Seriously, it's time.

Is `indefectibility' the process of trousering big wads of middle eastern dictators' money?

To all the supporters of Mr Galloway, watch this space !!!! He calls himself a member of a party called "Respect", I have been told on Huff Post (by a Galloway supporter) that this means respect for everyone/everybody, Galloway does not even have any respect for the poor people that elected him, he does not even know which town they live in !!!! They will sadly learn who they have voted for alot faster than he will learn where they live.

Democracy in action? it's the equivilent of block voting. Lots of Muslims voted for whom they were told to vote for, it's a system that has been in place for years and benefited The Labour Party. The fact is this is undemocratic in the same way as multiculturalism is unbritish. It is the politics of the ghetto, That area of Bradford might was well be part of a town in Pakistan in respect of the way it's voters have behaved.

The English really have nothing to worry about.
We Scots don't want him, that's true.
But all George wants is to be liked. To be Rula's cat. LOL
The guy shoulda had a pack of ostrich eggs! Given us all a good laugh at that smarmy politician.

Always been a Tory voter ,ever researched George Galloway before ,but I must say this man talks so much sense especially over the Iraq war and the futility of our presence in wars that are nothing to do with us ,maybe it is time to change our outlook ,just look at the terrible state this Country is now in ,I for one will never vote for any of the 3 main parties ever again .and will be watching Gorge Galloway with much interest from now on,
good luck to him He is to be admired compared to this trash we have in power.

I agree well said.

Yes, give him a carrot

Regardless how some people look at this more and more people are fed up with the 3 main party`s . Well and truly out of touch and to complacent with themselves and not listening to the people at all and it has got worse. These people have never had a real job and don,t know whats its like to live in the real world and its about time they did. British people for to long have been walked over by governments for there own needs not needs for the people who have voted them in. And its about time they really started working for there money and putting the British needs firmly on the map or voters will just go else where and abandon them altogether .
