Dennis Skinner's customary Queen's speech quip had a mixed reaction this year.













He told Black Rod: “Jubilee year, double-dip recession, what a start.”

While some thought it was his best yet, others were unimpressed at the line.

It certainly didn't beat his 1997 jibe: "New Labour, New Black Rod," or 2010 where he shouted "No royal commissions this week" in reference to the story that Sarah Ferguson had been caught trying to sell access to Prince Andrew.

The Labour MP is used to splitting opinion - prime minister David Cameron has recently called him a dinosaur and urged him to retire.

Cameron just does not care, he insulted Skinner in the commons. Cameron only entered politics 10 years ago and Skinner 40 years ago. You would expect some kind of respect for a person who has managed to hold the same seat for over 40 years.

And last year, or the year before, was it he who jibed "more expenses to be paid out."

One thing about him that probably puts him way ahead of every other MP is that he's never missed a Commons session and has held the same seat for over 40 years. If John Smith had not died, Skinner would have probably been made a Cabinet minister and done a far better job for ur country than the Blair and Brown mob.

He certainly speaks the truth, as he sees it. The problem is that he refuses to see what he doesn't want to see, and therefore he is functionally blind, politically speaking.

Dennis Skinner for Prime Minister??? lol

What we could look forward to: mass nationalisation (and the collapse of the stock market), leading to people's pensions being decimated, rocketing interest rates (and millions defaulting on their mortgages), huge increase in bankruptcies, the collapse of the pound, rampant inflation, mass unemployment and the country being held to ransom by toss-pot union leaders, uncontrolled immigration and the collapse of the welfare system, the country being bailed out by the IMF who would impose austerity measures 10 times worse than anything we're seeing right now.

But at least we would all be equally poor!!! The guy is a dynosaur and a sniper, criticises everyone and everything but has nothing positive to contribute...

...theres enough of that coming from Daves' mouth'...He should learn to respect his elders...Yes' Dennis is a bit outrageous sometimes'..But the place would be duller still without him...But Dave' has to be careful about his disrespectabe quips'...Theres a lot more who love Dennis'...he should remember when he insults Dennis'...He insults all of those who respect Mr Skinner.

But what about those that do not respect him and have seen in action for a lot of his career.he is a prime example of whats wrong with this country in both parties get rid of timeservers get rid of this ridiculous idea of safe seats.
