Johnny Depp had to rely on a team of assistants to help him during bathroom breaks while shooting new vampire film Dark Shadows - because his pointy movie nails made it difficult for him to urinate.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor stars in director Tim Burton's big screen adaptation of the supernatural TV series as Barnabus Collins, the cult character made famous in the 1960s by the late Jonathan Frid.

Depp was fitted with long, sharp fingernails as part of his costume, but the talons proved to be a real pain when he needed to go to the toilet.
During an appearance on America's The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which aired on Tuesday, he said: "Well it took some time (to get used to), certainly. They stayed on the whole day.

"There were a team of er... people who would assist me (in the bathroom)."
