Five Injured In Stabbing Incident

Police have made several arrests after five people were injured during a disturbance.

The victims, in their 20s, were all stabbed in the incident in Thornton Heath, south London, London Ambulance Service said.

A spokeswoman said they were called just before 5pm today and sent four ambulance crews and the London air ambulance.

She said: "Staff treated five patients. One of them was a 23-year-old man, the second was 22, also a man, and then there were two men in their 20s, and there are no details on the fifth patient."

She said all five were taken to hospital and were said to be "conscious and breathing".

Scotland Yard said officers were called just before 5pm to reports of a disturbance at premises in Thornton Heath High Street.

"Officers attended, they found a number of injured parties with at least two people taken to hospital.

"A number of arrests have been made in connection with the incident but inquiries are ongoing."
