Mainly because they've always looked bloody miserable.
In her defence, Vanessa does occasionally raise the faintest, tiniest, most French of smiles - as you'll see in the photos below. But Johnny? Johnny just looks... well, distinctly unimpressed. With all of us. Even when he's wearing shades.
