Robbie Williams: If Candy Doesn't Hit Number One I'll Hunt For UFOs Again (PICTURES)

If My Single Doesn't Take Off I'm Putting My Tinfoil Hat Back On

Robbie Williams has threatened to quit touring and revert back to his alien obsession if his new single doesn't take off.

The new dad has pinned all his hopes of success on new track Candy, and is planning to become a hermit if it doesn't reach number one in the charts.

He told Radio 1 DJ Greg James: "I don't want to emotionally blackmail the whole nation but if Candy's not a hit, I am not touring. I'm gonna stay in and look for UFOs. And I'm gonna get all beardy and all fat again.

"If you want that to happen to Robbie Williams, then you let it."

Robbie appeared to disappear from public view at the end of 2006 as his obsession with UFOs and extraterrestrials began.

The singer put on weight, stopped shaving began regularly camping in the Nevada desert in an attempt to catch a glimpse of other life forms.

In an interview with fellow singer Joss Stone, he said: "Seriously, I want to go out and investigate these things. I'm stopping being a pop star and being a full-time ufologist."

The Angels hitmaker, whose wife Ayda gave birth to baby Teddy on Tuesday, also dished out some love life advice to Greg, who previously dated singer Ellie Goulding.

He told him: "Don't do what footballers do, break into the big time at 19-and-a-half and then go, 'Right, wife, kids, let's go.'

And then sleep with absolutely everything else. What you should do is be a good boy, sleep with everything and then get into a relationship in your 30s."

Robbie's full interview airs on Radio 1 from 4pm on Thursday.
